Elchin Adzinba, a delegate of the Federation of Caucasian Associations (KAFFED), associate professor at Adnan Menderes University, and a representative of the Abkhazian Diaspora in Turkey, participated in the 19th session of the UN Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

In her speech, Elchin Adzinba emphasized the negative consequences of the deliberate isolationist policy towards the Republic of Abkhazia and called on UN mechanisms to pay greater attention to human rights issues, including the non-recognition of documents issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Abkhazia.

"We urge OHCHR and EMRIP to pay closer attention to the human rights consequences arising from the non-recognition of documents issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Abkhazia.

We also call for the equal consideration of the interests of the residents of the Republic of Abkhazia within the relevant UN human rights mechanisms, the promotion of inclusive dialogue involving all parties to the conflict, and support for initiatives aimed at ensuring freedom of movement, access to education, the protection of cultural rights, and the opportunity to present the cultural heritage of the Republic of Abkhazia in international forums," Elchin Adzinba stated.
