On March 6, the US State Department's press service issued a statement expressing "deep concern" about the closure of two checkpoints on the state border of the Republic of Abkhazia across the Ingur River.
Within the framework of the visit the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by the Foreign Minister Daur Kove, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investments of Venezuela, Jesús Faria.
The Abkhaz delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove includes Trade Representative of Abkhazia to Russia Oleg Bartsyts, Rector of the Abkhaz State University Aleko Gvaramia, Foreign Ministry officials Tengiz Tarba and Madina Zukhba.

On March 6, the meeting took place in Moscow between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Kan Tania and the Vice-Rector for Master's and International Programs of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations Andrei Baikov.
On the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Plenipotentiary Representative office of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia invited the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia, the first Plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in Turkish Republic Vladimir Avidzba, as well as the current Plenipotentiary representative of Abkhazia in Turkey Inar Gitsba.
On February 28 the NATO spokesman O. Lungesku made a statement in which she called on the authorities of Abkhazia not to close the crossing points on the state border with Georgia.
On February 25, the press service of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini issued a statement expressing "concern" about the planned closure of the two crossing points Bgoura (Otobaya) and Bataiguara (Nabakevi) at the state border on the Ingur River.
The Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia was amazed to learn the statement by the Special Representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze, which he made in an interview with the Tbilisi TV company "Starvision". Mr. Z. Abashidze expressed his "conviction" that Russia will sooner or later withdraw recognition of Abkhazia's independence.
PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove on the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
