Kan Tania, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia held a meeting with photographers from the Italian club of photographers "Circolo fotografico arno". The meeting was also attended by Temur Rekvava, the officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia
At the beginning of the meeting Kan Tania greeted the guests from Italy and briefly talked about the long historical ties between Abkhazia and Italy, as well as about the current relationship, and in particular about the Abkhazian Institute of Culture named after Dmitry Gulia, the Association "Europe-Abkhazia", as well as the quarterly newspaper "Abkhazia Today", which is published in four languages: Abkhaz, Russian, Italian and English.
The Deputy Minister briefed the guests on the history of Abkhazia and the current political situation in the country.
Members of the club "Circolo fotografico arno" thanked Kan Tania for the meeting and briefly informed about their project related to Abkhazia. The project is to publish a photo album about Abkhazia, the images of which would convey the national culture, the identity of the Abkhaz people and the beauty of the unique nature of Abkhazia. Photo album is planned to be published in Italy, including with the purpose of selling at various exhibitions and other mass events, and the proceeds are going to be redirected to one of the charitable funds of the Republic of Abkhazia.
At the end of the meeting, Kan Tania stressed that the visit of the group of photographers would allow the wide Italian audience to learn more about Abkhazia, which would contribute to strengthening the relations between the peoples of Abkhazia and Italy.
