The meeting between Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Adgur Ardzinba, the Minister of Economy with Sergey Aksenov, the Head of the Republic of Crimea took place on the fields of the V-th Yalta International Economic Forum. The parties discussed topical issues of cooperation between Abkhazia and Crimea.
Daur Kove, the Foreign Minister expressed the hope that all the established plans and agreements between the parties would be implemented. In particular, he recalled the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea.
“We will meet in the framework of the Interdepartmental Commission. I am sure that all our work will have a good continuation,” the Minister said.
Sergey Aksenov, the head of the Crimea noted a large number of points of contact between the Crimea and Abkhazia and expressed readiness to provide assistance in matters of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting discussed the possibility of increasing the supply of inert materials from Abkhazia to the Crimea to 1 million tons as well as the prospects for the development of passenger and freight transportation between Abkhazia, Turkey, Syria and the Crimea.
An invitation from Raul Khadzhimba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia for Sergey Aksenov to visit the Republic was conveyed by the head of the foreign ministry of Abkhazia. Sergey Aksenov accepted the invitations and also invited Raul Khadzhimba, the President to visit Crimea.
An Action Plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation of the Republics for 2019-2020 was signed between Abkhazia and Crimea in 2018.
An agreement was signed between the state-owned company Abkhaz Shipping Company and Black Sea Cruises LLC in the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi in February 2019. The agreement envisages the organization of a cruise service between the seaports of Abkhazia and Russia by 2020, in particular the cruise route liner "Prince Vladimir" calling at the port of Sukhum.
