Today we celebrate a significant date – the 81-st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
May the 9 is a sacred date, a symbol of the fortitude and unparalleled heroism of the victorious generation. The immortal feat of the Soviet people who defeated Nazism exemplifies courage and heroism, as well as selfless love for the Motherland. We bow our heads with profound gratitude to those who defended freedom and peace, who, through incredible efforts and sacrifices, brought the victorious month of May closer.

May 9 is a day that intertwines the pain of loss and the light of the great Victory forged by millions of people. The terrible war claimed the lives of 26.6 million Soviet citizens. From Abkhazia, 55,500 people went to the front, of whom 17,500 never returned home. Twenty-three people were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, and three became full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory of three degrees.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing attempts by some countries to distort the historical truth and diminish the heroism of the Soviet people. Our shared duty is to preserve the historical truth, cherish the memory of the heroes, and pass it on to future generations.

Happy holiday! Happy Great Victory Day!
