Today we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945!
May 9 is a special holiday for all of us. It is an example of the unbending strength of spirit, the courage of the people who stood up to defend their homeland from Nazism.

On this day, we say special words of gratitude to veterans, home front workers, everyone who brought the day of a truly great Victory closer. We remember those whose lives were taken by the cruel war. These courageous people showed us, future generations, what true patriotism and selfless love for their native land are.

We will always remember the feat of relatives and friends. Our Abkhazia sent 55.5 thousand sons and daughters to the front. Of these, 17.5 thousand did not return. 23 people became Heroes of the Soviet Union, 3 people - full cavaliers of the Order of Glory of three degrees.

80 years separate us from the victorious May. Nowadays, unfortunately, we are witnessing how some countries are trying to rewrite history, to consign to oblivion the feat of the Soviet people.
Today, our volunteers are fighting shoulder to shoulder with Russian servicemen during the Special Military Operation for Peace and Justice. Therefore, it is very important to preserve and pass on historical memory to future generations.
