August 30 marks the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, which is also called the International Day of Missing Persons.

In Sukhum, the memory of those missing during the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia 1992-1993 was honored. A flower-laying ceremony was held in the Park of Glory at the Memorial to those killed in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia 1992-1993.

A fountain dedicated to those missing during the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia 1992-1993 was opened in the Park of Glory.

In the State Museum of Military Glory named after V.G. Ardzinba, in memory of those missing during the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia 1992-1993, the action "Candle of Memory" was held.
