According to the State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia, on October 16 this year, during a joint patrol of the Abkhaz-Georgian state border, employees of the State Security Service of Abkhazia and the Border Guard Directorate of the Russian FSB in Abkhazia in the area of the village of Bgoura in the Gali district discovered an unmanned aerial vehicle filming of the surrounding area and military facilities.

Using electronic warfare equipment, the copter was intercepted and forcibly landed. According to operational data, it was established that this device belonged to the well-known Georgian activist and leader of the "anti-occupation movement" David Katsarava.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia regards this incident as an outright provocation.

Such actions are aimed at escalating of tensions in the border zone.

Despite regular statements by the top leadership of Georgia about its desire to resolve all existing contradictions with the Republic of Abkhazia exclusively by peaceful means, in practice, Georgia continues to escalate the situation on the Abkhaz-Georgian state border, creating serious threats to security and stability in the region.

The Abkhaz side intends to discuss the provocation organized by the Georgian side with the participants of the International Geneva Discussions during the upcoming round scheduled for November 5-6 of this year.
