On July 19, 2025, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the 46th anniversary of the Victory of the Sandinista Revolution a meeting was held between Oleg Bartsits, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Patricia Villegas, the President of the television media holding «Telesur».

Oleg Bartsits and Patricia Villegas expressed mutual interest in resuming of cooperation in the exchange of information, news and other materials between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on March 7, 2017 between the RA ICDC and the Latin American media giant Telesur.
