A meeting was held in the Russian Federation between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Jesús Rafael Salazar Velázquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Abkhazia at the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of Abkhaz-Venezuelan relations were discussed and a mutual commitment to further strengthening of them was reaffirmed.

Particular attention was also paid to recent events in Venezuela.

Oleg Bartsits, Foreign Minister expressed confidence that "such an experienced politician and leader as Delcy Rodríguez Gómez will lead Venezuela, its people, state institutions, and economy through this difficult period toward stability and prosperity." We are pleased that the people supported the Venezuelan government and are standing by its side."

During the meeting, Oleg Bartsits conveyed best wishes from Badra Gunba, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia to Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, the Acting President of Venezuela.

For his part, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velázquez, Ambassador noted that Abkhazia openly expresses solidarity and support for Venezuela's leaders. On behalf of the Government of Venezuela and the Venezuelan Embassy in Russia, the Ambassador conveyed sincere greetings to Badra Gunba, the President of Abkhazia.

The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
