At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Committee for Repatriation 12 tons of bottled drinking water of the highest category was sent to the Syrian Arab Republic as humanitarian aid on 9 August. The transportation of water takes place with the assistance of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
