Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia held a meeting with Valeria Jemello, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in the Republic of Abkhazia.

Also present at the meeting were Irakli Tuzhba, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia; Boris Kazanba, Deputy Head of the ICRC Delegation; Dina Fischer, Chair of the Coordination Mechanism on the fate of persons missing in connection with the 1992–1993 armed conflict and subsequent events; and Marc Maurer, Deputy Chair of the Mechanism.

During the meeting, the participants discussed current aspects of the ICRC’s activities in the Republic of Abkhazia, as well as prospects for future cooperation.

Oleg Bartsits emphasized the importance of maintaining a regular and constructive dialogue with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Valeria Jemello briefed Oleg Bartsits on the ongoing work of the ICRC delegation in the Republic of Abkhazia, its key areas of activity, and the humanitarian projects currently being implemented.

 In conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation and maintain regular working contacts on matters of mutual interest.
