On August 14, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Shamba and the Chairman of the Union of Abkhazian Volunteers of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania Igor Kokoyev.

On behalf of the Head of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania Sergey Menyailo, Igor Kokoyev awarded Sergey Shamba with the medal "For the Glory of Ossetia".

Sergey Shamba thanked for awarding one of the highest state awards of the Republic. "We need to develop and strengthen relations between our fraternal republics and peoples. Abkhazia will always be grateful to the volunteers who came to our aid during the most difficult period for our country. We will not forget those who laid down their lives for the freedom and independence of Abkhazia,” he noted.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs wished the people of North Ossetia-Alania peace and prosperity.
