On April 23, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsyts and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev.

Oleg Botsiev congratulated Oleg Bartsyts on his appointment as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, which was traditionally held in a warm and friendly manner, the current state of Abkhazian-South Ossetian relations and steps to develop them were discussed.

The mutual commitment to fruitful joint work in order to strengthen interstate Abkhazian-South Ossetian cooperation was emphasized. In addition, the parties discussed current issues of the regional and international agenda.
