A meeting was held in Moscow between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Sergei Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations.
Also at the meeting there were Alkhas Kvitsinia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation; Igor Tkach, First Deputy Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Moscow Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations; and Georgy Yakovlev, Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Compatriots and Information Policy.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to deepening the partnership between Abkhazia and Moscow.
The Abkhaz side expressed interest in adopting Moscow's experience in such important areas of dialogue as cultural and humanitarian exchange; tourism and investment; creative economy development; and social services and infrastructure.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the strategic nature of the relationship and expressed the Republic's interest in adopting of Moscow's experience in cutting-edge solutions in digitalization and social policy.
"This serves as a benchmark and invaluable experience for us, which we intend to creatively apply in our country with your support," stated Oleg Bartsits.
The Minister expressed special gratitude for the support in the reconstruction of the Abkhazia Pavilion at the EANE (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy)
"This modern venue will become a landmark attraction, a living symbol of Abkhaz culture and spirit in the heart of Russia. Your continued support for this project is of tremendous importance to us," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
The Minister noted the development of the creative economy as one of the areas for further cooperation. "We are counting on the Moscow Government's support in establishing of a partnership with the Agency for Creative Industries to create a modern ecosystem for creative industries in Abkhazia, which will become a driver of growth and self-realization for a new generation. "I am confident that our joint projects will yield rapid and high-quality results," said Oleg Bartsits.
At the meeting, which was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, a consolidated position was expressed on the need for effective cooperation at a high, substantive level.
