On May 19, ahead of the 64-th round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus (IDS), a meeting was held between O.M. Bigvava, the Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and M.Yu. Galuzin, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The meeting was also attended by A.D. Barzania and M.I. Zukhba, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The parties discussed in detail the key issues on the agenda of the upcoming round of the IDS.
During the discussion, mutual readiness was expressed to continue joint dialogue and work to achieve the set goals of ensuring security and stability in the region.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of concluding a legally binding document on the non-use of force between the Republic of Abkhazia and Georgia, as well as the delimitation of the Georgian-Abkhaz border with its subsequent demarcation.
