On July 21, 2025, as part of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia to Nicaragua, a meeting was held between Oleg Bartsits, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Waldrak Jentzke, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.

From the Abkhaz side, the meeting was also attended by: Irakli Tuzhba, Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Madina Zukhba, Head of the Department of Latin America, Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Inar Ladaria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua, Alias Aiba, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy as well as Boris Bartsits, Simon Agrba and Alias Khashba. representatives of the business community of Abkhazia.

The meeting was also attended by Ivan Lara, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Nicaragua on Policy and International Relations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral Abkhaz-Nicaraguan cooperation.
Mutual interest was expressed in further intensifying interstate relations and building up of contacts in the spheres of economy, trade and culture.

The Minister, in particular, emphasized: "I am pleased to note that today we have representatives of the business community of the Republic of Abkhazia here with us. And in this context, the visit of the Abkhaz delegation is aimed primarily at the practical implementation of previously signed bilateral intergovernmental agreements in the field of trade and economic cooperation.

Earlier today, we had a meeting with the Presidential Advisor for the Promotion of Investment, Trade and International Cooperation, Comrade Laureano Ortega Murillo, during which we discussed the possibilities of expanding of trade and financial relations."

During the conversation, Oleg Bartsits emphasized the importance of the support provided by the Republic of Nicaragua to our country, both at various regional and international venues, in particular, within the framework of the United Nations.
The Minister noted that Abkhazia sees Nicaragua as a reliable friend and partner.

Oleg Bartsits thanked his Nicaraguan counterpart for the warm welcome, noting the importance of further developing of friendly relations between Abkhazia and Nicaragua.

The mutual desire to progressively of buildup bilateral ties and maintain active dialogue at all levels was emphasized.

The meeting took place in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
