On November 1, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, the head of the Abkhazian delegation at the 62nd round of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Transcaucasus Odissei Bigvava met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.

The parties exchanged views on topical issues on the agenda of the 62nd round of the Geneva International Discussions.

In the context of countering provocations by the Georgian side, in particular, in view of the discovery of an UAV in the area of ​​the village of Bgoura in the Gal district on October 16 this year, Odissei Bigvava presented proposals from the abkhazian side on the possible resumption of the work of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) in the town of Gal.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on positions on key issues of the upcoming round, and also discussed issues of regional security and the international situation in general.

Mikhail Galuzin thanked the abkhazian side for the support provided by the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia, in particular, in terms of the Special Military Operation, the provision of humanitarian aid to the DPR, LPR, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Kursk regions.

The 62nd round of Discussions is scheduled for November 5-6, 2024.
