On April 27, 2026, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in a conference at the invitation of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace.

The event took place in the Salón Sucre of the historic Casa Amarilla building, the headquarters of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs.

Alexander Yáñez, Deputy Minister for Multilateral Affairs, opened the meeting by emphasizing, "Multilateralism is a tool for those who believe in the superiority of reason over force; it is a recognition that no country, including great powers can address global challenges alone."

Gianluca Rampolla, UN Resident Coordinator in Venezuela noted that multilateralism is the result of collective efforts that require sustained political will to prevent the world from sliding into the abyss of fragmentation.

Rander Peña, Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), drew a parallel between peace and social justice, as well as the legacy of the Panama Congress. He stated, "Lasting peace is not simply the absence
of war, but the presence of dignified living conditions for all peoples."

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Yáñez linked the ideas of Simón Bolívar to the contemporary struggle to create a multipolar and multicentric world, condemning the use of unilateral coercive measures as antithetical to international law.

The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Venezuela, representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, and the media.
