On February 20, 2026, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in an event dedicated to the 92-nd anniversary of the death of General of Free Peoples Augusto César Sandino at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in Venezuela.
The ceremony was led by Valezka López, Nicaraguan Ambassador, Rander Peña, Deputy Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs for Latin America and Alfredo Ruiz Angulo, Venezuelan Human Rights Commissioner.
The commemorative ceremony was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and ambassadors accredited to Venezuela, representatives of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, media representatives, and other distinguished guests.
