On February 19, 2026, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela attended a state reception dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day at the invitation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov and Defense Attaché at the Russian Embassy Colonel Sergey Nadezhkin.

At the event, held at the Gran Melia Caracas Hotel, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, Russian Ambassador addressed the guests with welcoming remarks.

During the event, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador congratulated Sergey Melik- Bagdasarov and the staff of the Russian Embassy on the upcoming holiday, February 23, noting the unwavering bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between Abkhazia and Russia.

The reception was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Venezuela, high-ranking representatives of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense, as well as officials from various departments and government institutions.
