On March 18, at the invitation of the Chairman of the City Council of People's Deputies of Bendery, Yuri Kara, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman took part in the presentation of School Diplomacy Clubs.
A meeting of students from three schools, on the basis of which School Diplomacy Clubs were created, was held at the site of the City Council of People's Deputies.
Experts and diplomats from different countries, representatives of state structures of Pridnestrovie took part in the meeting.
The main result of the event was the creation of the Council of School Diplomacy Clubs.
Answering journalists' questions following the event, Alexander Vataman noted, in particular: "The School Diplomacy Club project is a good additional motivation for schoolchildren who have become participants of these clubs to learn the educational material, to deeply study the history of their native land and its culture, to study the history of neighboring countries and relations with them. When this knowledge creates the basis for young people, then regardless of which path they choose after school, they will become decent citizens of their country and will be able to represent their Republic at various levels of public diplomacy, both outside the country and inside. The relevance of this is understood in Russia, where projects and initiatives of public diplomacy with the participation of young people are actively developing. Undoubtedly, this is relevant for both Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia."
