On September 5, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Pridnestrovian statehood: history and modernity", dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The conference participants included the founders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, current government officials, scientists, etc.

In his greeting to the conference participants, Alexander Vataman said that: "Since its formation, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was created and developed in extremely difficult conditions. The achievement of significant results in strengthening the Pridnestrovian statehood and reinforcement of economic self-sufficiency is even more significant. This way has been walked by the united Pridnestrovian people, who over 35 years have created an excellent foundation for the further development of the state through their labor."

The diplomat noted that "the most recent history of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia is similar in many ways. In building statehood, our Republics are united by common values, the desire for peace and independence. Such similarity of historical destinies and modern aspirations determines Abkhazian interest in Pridnestrovian scientific research and studies, including in the area to which today's conference is devoted."
