Under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad of the Syrian Arab Republic, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Syria and with the participation of Embassies and diplomatic missions accredited in the Syrian Arab Republic (Abkhazia, Bahrain, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, Indonesia, Sudan, Paraguay, representatives of the UN and Syria), a diplomatic table tennis tournament was held in Damascus from 16 to 17 May.

The Republic of Abkhazia was represented by Muhammad Ali, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic and Gais Al Harke, the embassy counselor - head of the consular department.

On May 17, the day the tournament ended, the winners and participants were awarded by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad and the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic.
