The sovereignty of Abkhazia has been recognized by five UN member states, as well as several republics with partially recognized or unrecognized status. Is the republic working on this issue with other members of the international community? Are there any contacts between the republic and the UN?

Broad international recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia is one of the most important foreign policy goals of our country. Accordingly, this is one of the most important tasks in the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia. In achieving this goal, we see pressure from the United States and the European Union.
Therefore, we are trying to establish contacts in those regions of the world where Western countries do not have significant influence and cannot exert direct pressure on certain countries. Due to objective reasons, we would not like to advertise our work in this direction. We have negative experience when the United States and its partners continued to exert significant pressure on those countries with which we have already established diplomatic relations.

Nevertheless, despite all the difficulties and serious pressure from the collective West, we continue to look for opportunities in various regions of the world to establish new connections and contacts, and we are looking for new partners. In these matters, we count on the support of our strategic ally, the Russian Federation.
As I have already said, we are constantly working on this task. That is why diplomatic relations were established with the Syrian Arab Republic. We hope that in the foreseeable future, the number of countries that recognize the Republic of Abkhazia as a sovereign and independent state will increase.

Can we call Abkhazia's ultimate goal joining the UN? Is work being done in this direction? If so, what kind of work?

Certainly, for the Republic of Abkhazia, the ultimate goal is joining the United Nations. This is the ultimate goal of the process of broad international recognition of our country. All of this is logically interconnected. Of course, we understand perfectly well that this is a very complex process. And the policy of double standards that we face has not been canceled.
As for the work being carried out in this direction, I have already spoken about this earlier. Broad international recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia is one of the priority goals in the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Abkhazia is open to constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation based on equality and mutual respect with those countries that respect our position.
