March 28, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation Kan Taniia held an online meeting with representatives of the Italian public. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Sukhum Municipal Assembly Dmitry Osiia.

As part of the online meeting, a Protocol was presented (Memorandum of Friendship and Mutual Understanding between the Sukhum Municipal Assembly, the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Abkhazia in Italy, the Chairman and Press Secretary of the Political Party "Insieme Liberi" and the Deputy of the Municipal Council of the Minority of the Municipality of Trieste, the Chairman of the Political Party "Vita" and the former Member of Parliament of the Italian Republic).

The signed document provides for cultural exchanges between the Abkhazian Municipal Council and Trieste.

Kan Taniia also informed about the elections of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia. “Our country has stood the test of the elections brilliantly, demonstrating that it has achieved a solid maturity in its democracy,” the diplomat noted at the meeting.
