On July 18, 2025, the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Bartsits, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega, arrived on an official visit to the Republic of Nicaragua to participate in the ceremonial events dedicated to the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista People’s Revolution. As part of the visit, a number of meetings are planned with officials and representatives of the business community of Nicaragua.

The delegation includes: Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Iraklii Tuzhba and Head of the Department of Latin America, Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Madina Zukhba, as well as representatives of the business community of Abkhazia Boris Bartsits, Simon Agrba and Alias Khashba.

At the Managua airport, the Abkhazian delegation was met by the Advisor to Nicaraguan President on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Nicaragua on Policy and International Relations, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Lara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua Inar Ladariia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Nicaragua Mikhail Ledenev, representatives of state authorities and the media of the Republic of Nicaragua.
