Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic Muhammad Ali met with the Minister of Justice of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Awad Al-Sayed.

During the meeting, the Minister of Justice of Syria emphasized the strength of relations between the two states at the diplomatic level and the unequivocal position of His Excellency the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad regarding the right of peoples to independence and non-interference in the internal politics of their states.

The Minister also expressed profound respect for the fraternal ties between the peoples of both countries, since the Abkhazian Diaspora in Syria is part of Syrian society. Al-Sayed emphasized the need to complete preparations for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Justice of the Syrian Arab Republic and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Abkhazia and to use the best experience and qualifications of the two countries in the judicial field.

Muhammad Ali, for his part, conveyed compliments to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Abkhazia, Anri Bartsyts, and congratulations on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday, noting the desire of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Abkhazia to strengthen ties between two friendly countries and peoples and develop judicial cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic Republic. He also expressed the readiness of the Abkhazian side to sign a cooperation agreement between the ministries of justice of the two countries, which will add new value to Abkhazian-Syrian relations.
