On 15 August 2025, the Plenipotentiary Representative Office of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of Turkey in Istanbul hosted a meeting between the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia Ibrahim Avidzba and the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul Andrey Buravov.

The meeting was also attended by Advisor to the Plenipotentiary Representation Dzhansukh Lazba and Assistant to the Consul General for Protocol Fedor Zezyulin.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as current matters of the regional and international agenda of mutual interest were discussed.

Interaction in social and humanitarian areas, as well as notarial issues were discussed.

The meeting was held in a friendly, trusting and warm atmosphere traditional for Abkhazian-Russian allied relations. The diplomats agreed to maintain regular contacts in order to develop bilateral relations.
