Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic Muhammad Ali met with the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria, Chairman of the Syrian part of the Joint Abkhazian-Syrian Committee on Economic, Trade, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation Mohammad Rabia Kalaaji.

The parties discussed issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation and the need to hold a second meeting of the committee.

During the meeting were discussed measures taken to implement the signed agreements, as well as the final stages of preparing agreements in the field of customs, education, agriculture planned for signing during the second meeting.
The importance of creating trade missions, the need to expand mutual visits of representatives of trade organizations and holding joint events in the economic sphere were noted.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria Rania Al-Ahmad and Advisor to the Embassy of Abkhazia Gays Al-Harki.
