On September 10, 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of Nicaragua organized a reception to celebrate the 15-th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nicaragua, which was attended by representatives of the Government of Nicaragua, deputies of the National Assembly of Nicaragua, ambassadors of friendly countries accredited in Nicaragua, representatives of the local business community, the media, and academic circles.
The national anthems of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nicaragua were played at the beginning of the event.
Inar Ladaria, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua and Waldrak Jentske, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua delivered speeches at the opening of the diplomatic reception.
Inar Ladaria conveyed cordial greetings from Aslan Bzhania, the President of Abkhazia and Sergey Shamba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia to Daniel Ortega, the President of Nicaragua, the Government of Nicaragua and its people.
In his speech, Ambassador Inar Ladaria told the guests about the history of the struggle of the people of Abkhazia for independence and sovereignty, touched upon the main historical events of Abkhaz-Nicaraguan cooperation and spoke about the work carried out by the Embassy in cooperation with local government organizations to strengthen interstate and interdepartmental cooperation. The Ambassador of Abkhazia noted the great potential for the development of bilateral relations and expressed the readiness of the leadership of Abkhazia to strengthen cooperation in all areas.
Waldrak Jenstke, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister congratulated them on the occasion and conveyed greetings from Daniel Ortega, Nicaraguan President, Rosario Murillo, Vice President and the people of Nicaragua to Aslan Bzhania, Abkhazian President, Sergey Shamba, Foreign Minister, Inar Ladaria, Abkhazian Ambassador to Nicaragua and the people of Abkhazia. The Minister noted that 15 years ago our countries took the first step towards a strong and lasting friendship based on mutual respect and a common desire to ensure and develop cooperation and understanding between our peoples.
“Over the years of working together on numerous projects, we have decisively overcome difficulties and demonstrated a spirit of cooperation. Celebrating this anniversary marks not only the time that has passed, but also the path to closer and more fruitful cooperation,” he noted.
In conclusion, Minister Jentzke said: “We look to the future with optimism and hope, confident that we will continue to build a legacy of cooperation and mutual prosperity in an increasingly multipolar world in the name of Peace and Justice. On behalf of Nicaragua, we reaffirm our firm commitment to continue strengthening of our bonds of friendship and cooperation, to work together for self-determination and respect among our peoples.” The reception took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere, allowing the participants to exchange views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
