On June 26, 2025. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Zaur Gvadzhava, at the invitation of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, took part in a meeting organized at the initiative of the Venezuelan side with the participation of the member countries of the "Group of Friends for the Defence of the Charter of the United Nations" to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN.
The event took place at the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and was led by the Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto.
In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the need for the prevalence of multilateralism and peaceful coexistence among peoples, due to which he emphasized the need to hold the World Summit for Peace and Against War, convened by President Nicolás Maduro.
During the event, ambassadors-members of the "Group of Friends for the defense of the UN Charter", such as Russia, China, Palestine, Iran, Bolivia and others, as well as the executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) Rander Peña, also made a speech.
The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Venezuela, representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry and the media.
