On February 12, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia between Odyssey Bigvava, Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Co-Chairs of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus - Cihan Sultanoglu, UN Co-Chair, Magdalena Grono, EU Co-Chair and Ernst Spathi, OSCE Co-Chair Christoph.
From the Abkhaz side, the meeting was attended by employees of the MFA of Abkhazia, participants of the Discussions Lasha Avidzba and Artur Gagulia.
Odyssey Bigvava, having said that the meeting is taking place on the eve of the elections of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, noted that the citizens of the country are determined to strengthen the independence of Abkhazia, as well as to develop relations with the main ally and guarantor of Abkhazia's security - the Russian Federation.
The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of the agenda of the upcoming 63-rd round of the International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Transcaucasus and current issues of regional security.
During the conversation, the Abkhaz side confirmed the priority importance of concluding a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force between the Republic of Abkhazia and Georgia.
During the meeting, the parties paid special attention to the issue of resuming the activities of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) in Gal, as well as the factors hindering the implementation of the parties' intentions to resume the activities of the IPRM.
The 63-rd round is scheduled for March 4-5, 2025.
