Oleg Bartsits, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, sent a personal note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad of the Syrian Arab Republic, Assad Hassan Al-Shaibani. 

It is stated: 

“We are watching the events unfolding in the Syrian Arab Republic with great concern. The particular concern is the escalation of tensions in Syria provoked by Israel and other interested parties. 

Just today, Israel carried out another airstrike on the center of Damascus, which resulted in civilian casualties. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia strongly condemns Israel’s repeated attacks on the sovereign territory of Syria, which is a gross violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. 

The Republic of Abkhazia reaffirms its firm support for the fraternal Syrian people and the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic regarding its territorial integrity. We strongly condemn any attempts at foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic and actions that threaten the stability and security of Syria." The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits wished peace and stability to the brotherly people of Syria.
