The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba sent a congratulatory note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres on this occasion.

It is noted in particular:

"September 3, 2008 is a truly significant day in the modern history of the Republic of Abkhazia. We will always remember this day with a feeling of deep gratitude and the friendly support provided by the leadership of the Republic of Nicaragua in the person of Comandante Jose Daniel Ortega Saavedra and the heroic Nicaraguan people to the Republic of Abkhazia at such a crucial period in our history.

We note with satisfaction that over the years since the recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations, our states have been actively developing bilateral cooperation, creating of a solid foundation for further deepening interstate cooperation.

It is difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to the development of strategic partnership and alliance between our countries.

We warmly remember your visit to the Republic of Abkhazia in May 2023 I am convinced that through joint efforts we will ensure the further development of the entire range of Abkhaz-Nicaraguan relations for the benefit of our fraternal peoples."
