Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba sent a congratulatory note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of the celebration of National Unity Day.

The congratulations says, inter alia:

«This holiday, rooted in the depths of centuries, personifies the unity of the peoples of Russia, different nationalities and religions, recalling the heroic pages of Russian history, symbolizing unity for the common good and prosperity of their great Motherland.

The people of Russia embody the desire for peace and freedom, solidarity and responsibility for the fate of the Fatherland. And today, in the conditions of global injustice, the people of Russia, regardless of age and social status, nationality and religion, stood up to defend the interests of the Motherland in the struggle for a fair world order.

The peoples of Abkhazia and Russia are bound by ties of brotherhood, common history and respect for traditional values.

We are convinced that the Abkhazian-Russian strategic alliance will continue to develop in the paradigm of positive interaction, mutual support and cooperation».
