On February 28, a meeting was held between Sergey Shamba, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Brenda Rocha, the Chairperson of the Supreme Electoral Council of the Republic of Nicaragua and Leonso Knight Julian, the Master of the Supreme Electoral Council.

Sergey Shamba noted the importance for Abkhazia of the presence of such high-level guests from the largest country in Central America, Nicaragua, as observers at the presidential elections. He emphasized the importance of Nicaragua and Venezuela in Abkhazia’s foreign policy activities.

Brenda Rocha, the Chairperson of the Supreme Electoral Council of Nicaragua conveyed greetings from Daniel Ortega, the President of Nicaragua and Rosario Murillo, Vice President. She noted that it was a great honor for them to be entrusted with accompanying such an important voting process.

Brenda Rocha expressed solidarity and respect for the people of Abkhazia for their struggle for self-determination, emphasizing that they are also waging a similar struggle for their people.

During the meeting, Sergey Shamba, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia noted the importance of the presence of such high-level guests from the largest country in Central America, Nicaragua, as observers at the presidential elections. The Minister expressed hope for the development of Abkhaz-Nicaraguan relations, including in the economic sphere. He suggested considering the possibility of organizing a summer camp for children from Nicaragua in Abkhazia.

Sergey Shamba also conveyed greetings to his colleague Waldrack Jentzke, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister and expressed hope for his visit to Abkhazia.
