On July 13, 2026, the South Ossetian State University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Nuremberg: Without the Right to Rehabilitation," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the completion of the Nuremberg Trials.

Dzhemal Bganba, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, participated in the conference.

The event was organized by South Ossetian State University, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia, the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo, the National Foundation for the Support of Social Programs of the Russian Federation, the Representative Office of the Russian Historical Society in the Republic of South Ossetia, the National Research Institute for the Development of Communications, and the International Institute for the Development of Communications "Mir-Most-Ossetia" Foundation.

The key topics of the conference were preserving the historical memory of the Nuremberg Trials and countering attempts to rehabilitate Nazism and revise the results of World War II.

At the beginning of his speech, Dzhemal Bganba conveyed a welcome address from Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, to Marat Kambolov, Acting President of the Republic of South Ossetia.

During his speech, the head of the Department noted that the foundations of the rule of law, designed to ensure the principle of the inevitability of punishment for war crimes and Nazism, are currently being destroyed in the world.

"The world is going through difficult times: conflicts like the one in the Middle East threaten the lives of millions. For the residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the fight against attempts to rewrite history is not just words, but part of their personal tragedy. Today, it is important for each of us to recognize the danger: the world is once again facing the 'infection' of Nazism, and the international community must demonstrate determination to stop this process," emphasized Dzhemal Bganba.

The event also included the opening of the photo exhibition "Nuremberg: The Unknown about the Known," organized by the Russian House in Tskhinval. Sergey Komissarov, head of the Russian House, presented the university with a three-volume edition of "Without Statute of Limitations" containing archival documents on Nazi crimes. A collection of papers based on the conference proceedings is planned for publication.
