December 14 is one of the most tragic dates in the modern history of Abkhazia. The memory of this tragedy is as sacred as the memory of the victory for the Abkhazian people.
29 years ago, on December 14-th, 1992, the Georgian State Council troops shot down a helicopter carrying refugees that were on their way from Tkuarchal to Gudauta. More than 80 people fell victim to this inhuman crime, among them there were children, women and the elderly.
On this day of mourning, we honour the memory of the innocent victims and share the pain of their losses with their families and friends. Eternal memory to them.
