On July 13, 2026, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsits, participated in the presentation of the book "The Truth about the Past" ("Иҳаҩсхьоу аҵабырг").

The book was prepared by Ekaterina Bebiya, a professor at Abkhazian State University and a member of the Writers' Union and the Union of Journalists of Abkhazia. Oleg Bartsits congratulated Ekaterina Bebiya on the publication of the book and thanked for the opportunity to write the concluding remarks to the fourth volume.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate us all on the completion of Ekaterina Georgievna's landmark work: four books, 45 years of dedicated work to preserve a very significant part of the historical memory of the Abkhazian people. Thanks to Ekaterina Georgievna's work, barely numbers come to life in human history. These stories are told through the voices and eyes of the relatives, family members, descendants, and grandchildren of our compatriots who were subjected to inhumane repression," he noted.

"It is a great honour for me to be offered to write the conclusion to the fourth book. Not only I feel excited when open this book, but also immensely grateful and responsible. Thank you for your work," the Minister emphasized.

The book, published in Russian and Abkhaz, is the fourth volume in the author's series "Victims of Political Repression in Abkhazia."
