On August 25, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev arrived in the Republic of Abkhazia on a visit. Akhsar Dzhioev was met by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Odissei Bigvava.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia will take part in events to mark the 16th anniversary of the Day of International Recognition of Independence of the Republic of Abkhazia.

As part of the visit, it is planned to sign a Consultation Plan between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia for 2024-2025.
