On September 28, 2026, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia between Oleg Bartsits, Foreign Minister and Maxim Litvinov, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

Also participating in the meeting were Dzhemal Bganba, Head of the Strategic Cooperation Department of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry; Lasha Avidzba, Head of the Consular Department of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry; and Stanislav Ruzhinsky, Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia.

Oleg Bartsits expressed deep and sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Amina Bikbova, a citizen of the Russian Federation who fell victim to a brutal crime, and assured them that the competent authorities of the Republic of Abkhazia are providing comprehensive assistance to the family. He noted that the situation is under the special supervision of the state. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility, and the necessary investigative measures are underway.

Oleg Bartsits emphasized that ensuring the safety of citizens of the Russian Federation and other foreign nationals within the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia is a priority for state authorities.
