Yesterday, the Israeli Air Force launched an airstrike from the Golan Heights on a residential building in the Mezzeh area of Damascus. Diplomatic missions of various countries, including the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic are located there. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed and three more were wounded.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia categorically condemns the attack on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of the capital of Syria by the Israeli armed forces. Such actions are prohibited by international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
We are convinced that this act will not lead to peaceful consequences, but will only bring the world closer to a full-scale war inthe Middle East.
