The shelling of the Mezzeh area occurred near the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia. The Embassy of Abkhazia suffered material damage: the glass in the office of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary was broken and the glass doors on the first floor of the embassy were broken as well. Fortunately, none of the embassy employees were injured. Besides the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia, the official Representative Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia is located in the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia once again condemns such illegal and inhumane actions on the part of Israel and calls for an immediate cessation of air strikes. We believe that no good intentions or attempts to legitimize aggression can justify the indiscriminate and devastating use of military force.
