Due to the cancellation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation of the recommendation to refrain from traveling to the Republic of Abkhazia because of the political crisis that arose in the Republic on November 15, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states the following. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia thanks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and draws the attention of citizens of the Russian Federation planning to visit Abkhazia during the summer resort season to the fact that the political and social situation in the Republic of Abkhazia is calm, all government bodies are performing their functions in the normal mode, there are no grounds for concern and risks to the safety of tourists.

As noted in the message to the media from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation have planned and are already actively working on a series of large-scale projects in the economic, medical and transport fields, including the planned launching of the V.G. Ardzinba international airport, as well as expanding the capacity of the customs and border checkpoint on the border of Abkhazia and Russia along the Psou River.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia also wants to draw the attention of all citizens planning to visit Abkhazia to the fact that there are no problems with environmental safety in the Republic. The environmental disaster that occurred in the Black Sea, which, unfortunately, affected some part of the Russian coast, did not affect the Republic of Abkhazia. The responsible state bodies of the Republic of Abkhazia are constantly monitoring the environmental situation in Abkhazia, in particular on the coast, noting the absence of any changes or signs of pollution.

In view of the foregoing, we inform you that there are no risks or threats for tourists and citizens visiting Abkhazia or planning to travel to Abkhazia. The Abkhazian people have always been famous for their hospitality and will be happy to once again receive as many guests as possible from our brotherly Russian Federation.
