Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, Oleg Bartsits, received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia, Astamur Katsia.
Deputy Foreign Minister Odissei Bigvava and Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dzhemal Bganba, participated in the ceremony.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits highlighted that cooperation between the two fraternal states is developing in the spirit of alliance, partnership, and friendship.
Oleg Bartsits congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and expressed confidence that his work as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia will contribute to the further development and deepening of Abkhazian-South Ossetian relations.
"You are going to present your credentials to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Badra Zurabovich Gunba," the Foreign Minister said.
The Minister warmly recalled the Foreign Ministry delegation's visit to South Ossetia in February of this year, during which they met with President Alan Gagloev, Speaker of Parliament Alan Margiev, Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev, and Head of the A. Tibilov South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev. "All these meetings were held at the highest level and met the spirit and letter of our friendship and relationship, as well as our numerous agreements. All of our cooperation is based on a very solid legal and contractual ground," he said.
The Minister wished the newly appointed Ambassador success and the fulfillment of all the objectives set before our countries.
In his turn, Astamur Katsia thanked the Minister for the warm welcome and expressed his readiness to make every effort to expand cooperation between the two countries.
