On October 1, during a meeting between Oleg Bartsits, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, a plan of consultations was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2026-2027.

The plan of consultations, in particular, covers the following topics: current issues of bilateral relations, development of the bilateral legal framework; information support for the foreign policy activities of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation; organization of joint scientific and practical seminars, conferences, and roundtables and assistance in holding cultural and sporting events.
