On September 4, 2024, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia between Sergey Shamba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Alkhas Kvitsinia, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, the main focus was on discussing a number of topical issues of bilateral Abkhaz-Russian relations, in particular, the discussion focused on the published unconfirmed materials from the meeting of Dmitry Kozak, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and Aslan Bzhania, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia published on social networks.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the recent situation in Abkhaz-Russian relations and outlined further steps for a possible solution to these issues.

Alkhas Kvitsinia also reported to the Minister on the current work of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation.
