On February 18, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia hosted a meeting between Sergey Shamba, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vito Grittani, Ambassador-at-Large of the MFA of Abkhazia. The meeting was attended by Kan Tania, Advisor of the Embassy of Abkhazia in Russia.

Sergey Shamba thanked Vito Grittani for coming to the elections of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia and noted that he knows a lot about his support for the republic.

"This is very important for us. You know how isolated our country is, so when there are people in Europe with whom we communicate, who support us, it gives us more strength and confidence." He expressed hope for further effective cooperation.

Vito Grittani spoke about the arrival of a group of Italian observers to the elections of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia and their impressions of the country. He emphasized that "they said that what they saw with their own eyes is completely different from what Western propaganda imposes on them."

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed concerning the work of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Abkhazia in Italy, for which Vito Grittani and Kan Tania are responsible.
