His Beatitude Patriarch John X received the Abkhaz delegation at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus.

The meeting included a warm and informative conversation, discussing issues of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to centuries-old Christian ties, which form an important foundation for the development of spiritual dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect. 

Oleg Bartsits and His Beatitude Patriarch John X emphasized the important and constructive role of the Church in strengthening of peace, harmony, and mutual understanding, as well as in preserving of traditional spiritual and moral values. 

As a sign of respect and in memory of the meeting, Oleg Bartsits presented His Beatitude Patriarch John X with a commemorative coin and a book about the Republic of Abkhazia.
